چکیده
Many college students have adopted sedentary and physically inactive lifestyles, leading to obesity, diabetes, other epidemics. Improving campus walkability can promote students’ walking activities health conditions. This study aims explore the influence of street-level environmental attributes on pedestrian activity in a developing country, thus present physical promotion planning design strategies. Based Urban Design Quality theory, we use field audit measure five qualities 23 types streetscape features at eight Chinese university campuses. Several negative binomial regression models, without spatial autocorrelation, are fitted analyze effect micro-scale volume different We found that street space part significantly affect volume. Pedestrian-oriented strategies presented based results.

Assessing environmental features related to mental health: a reliability study of visual streetscape images
BACKGROUND An association between depressive symptoms and features of built environment has been reported in the literature. A remaining research challenge is the development of methods to efficiently capture pertinent environmental features in relevant study settings. Visual streetscape images have been used to replace traditional physical audits and directly observe the built environment of c...
متن کاملIdentifying Streetscape Features Significant to Well-Being.
To determine effective relationships between the built environment and health and well-being, a transdisciplinary team of architectural, behavioral and health scientists developed a built environment coding system (UMBECS). They examined the relationship of resulting streetscape features to health and well-being at the block level. The research team conducted studies of the validity of UMBECS f...

Physical environmental factors related to walking and cycling in older adults: the Belgian aging studies
BACKGROUND Socio-ecological models emphasize the relationship between the physical environment and physical activity (PA). However, knowledge about this relationship in older adults is limited. Therefore, the present study aims to investigate the relationship between area of residence (urban, semi-urban or rural) and older adults' walking and cycling for transportation and recreation. Additiona...
